Chlorophyll is the main pigment for photosynthesis in plants. It is a family of lipid-containing pigments located in the thylakoid membrane. Chlorophyll absorbs most of the red and violet light but reflects green light, so chlorophyll appears green, which plays a central role in photosynthesis light absorption. Chlorophyll is a magnesium porphyrin compound, including chlorophyll a, b, c, d, f, and protophyll and chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is not very stable, and light, acid, alkali, oxygen, oxidant, etc. will decompose. Under acidic conditions, chlorophyll molecules easily lose magnesium in the porphyrin ring to pheophytin. Chlorophyll has many uses such as hematopoiesis, vitamins, detoxification, and disease resistance.
The plant chlorophyll meter can instantly measure the relative chlorophyll content (in SPAD) or 'greenness' of the plant, so that you can understand the true nitro requirements of the plant and help you understand the lack of soil nitro or the excessive application of nitrogen. You can use this instrument to increase the utilization of nitrogen fertilizer and protect the environment (preventing the application of excessive nitrogen fertilizer, which pollutes the environment, especially the water source.
2. Working principle
How chlorophyll meter works
Two LED light sources emit two kinds of light, one is red light (peak wavelength 650nm), one is infrared light (940nm), two kinds of light penetrate the blade, hit the receiver, the light signal is converted into analog signal, analog signal It is amplified by an amplifier and converted into a digital signal by an analog/digital converter. The digital signal is processed by the microprocessor to calculate the SPAD value and display it on the LCD screen.
Calibration and calculation of chlorophyll meter measurements
(1) During the calibration process, the indenter does not sandwich the sample, the two LEDs are sequentially illuminated, and the received light is converted into an electrical signal, and the ratio of the light intensities is used for calculation.
(2) After the sample is clamped by the indenter, the two LEDs emit light again, and the light transmitted through the blade hits the receiver and is converted into an electrical signal, and the intensity ratio of the transmitted light is calculated.
(3) The values ​​of steps 1 and 2 are used to calculate the SPAD measurement, which is the current chlorophyll relative content of the clamped sample leaves.
Instructions
1. Turn on the power switch and the LCD will display the current time.
2. Press and hold the measurement head to calibrate (no objects are placed in the measurement position at this time) until the LCD displays b000, indicating that the instrument has been calibrated to start measurement. If the LCD displays A - - -, the instrument cannot pass the calibration. Please check if there is any object under the measuring head to cover the measurement position. Otherwise, please refer to the troubleshooting operation.
3. After the instrument is calibrated, you can use the â–¼ button to check the storage status, battery level and time setting of the SD card.
After the instrument is calibrated, press the â–¼ button for the first time. The display shows that 0001 indicates that the data currently being stored by the SD card is the first one. If the display shows - - - -, the SD card is not inserted, please check if the SD card is inserted. Press â–¼ again to display U4.18, indicating that the current battery level is 4.18V. Press â–¼ again to switch to the time interface. The cursor will flash automatically. At this time, you can use â–²/â–¼ and ENT to modify the current time. . The measurement can be made directly after the time is set.
4. When measuring, place the plant leaf into the measuring position and press the measuring head for two to three seconds. The display will automatically display the chlorophyll value of the measured blade. Loosen the measuring head and press the ENT key to save the measurement result to the SD card. If the data does not need to be saved, you can press the measuring head directly for the next measurement. After the measurement is finished, press the switch button to shut down.
5. The data is stored on the SD card and can be read by a randomly equipped card reader. The order of the data is 1--9999.

1. Keep the measurement position clean so as not to affect the measurement results.
2. Check the battery power frequently. When the battery power is lower than 3.8V, please charge it in time.
3. Because this instrument measures the relative content of chlorophyll by infrared light, it should be kept away from direct sunlight when measuring, and it can be slightly blocked by the body.
4. Please load or remove the SD card.
5. The instrument's automatic sleep time is 70 seconds. After the instrument is asleep, it can be awakened by the measurement head.
Troubleshooting
1. If the instrument fails to pass normally every time, please clean the measurement position first to see if there is any object blocking the photoelectric sensor window. If there is no object blocking the photoelectric sensor window, please charge the instrument for about 1 hour and try again to see if This is caused by insufficient battery power. If there is no way to solve this problem, please contact our customer service in time, our customer service will help you solve the problem!
2. If the calibration passes, but each measurement result is very different, please check the battery power. If there is no problem with the power, please turn off the power for 5 minutes, then restart the calibration, and then take the measurement.
