A total of 100,000 shopping bags are distributed to 30 large chain stores in the city and are provided free of charge to customers. The milky white shopping bags sent this time are made of cotton fabrics and can be used repeatedly after washing. The cost is about 2.50 yuan/a, and the three major supermarkets each contributed 100,000 yuan. At Hualian Supermarket in Longchang, the reporter interviewed some customers who were shopping. They expressed “acceptable” for the goods packed in bags, but some customers bluntly said “not very convenient”. At the same time, businesses also have concerns about the promotion of cloth bags.
A staff member told the reporter that the supermarket is now using an environmentally-friendly biodegradable plastic bag, and its price is only about 1 cent. For health considerations, commodities must be categorized strictly in order to avoid cross-contamination. In such cases, multiple bags are often used. If customers expect the mall to provide ready-made bags each time, businesses feel a certain amount of pressure.
