The person in charge of the Henan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reported yesterday that a case of an export company in our province “who did not meet the quarantine requirements for wood packaging of goods” stated that the wooden packaging problem should cause export companies to attach great importance to it.

A few days ago, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) issued a notice: The wood packaging of goods exported by a certain enterprise in Henan Province does not meet the quarantine requirements. After investigation, it was discovered that the goods were illegally seized goods. The company directly exported wood packagings to a company in Hebei and exported them, eventually causing the wooden packaging to be reported abroad.

It is reported that wood packaging for imported and exported goods is an important way to spread wood pests internationally. All countries in the world have taken stringent measures for the import and export of wood packaging to protect their own forests, ecological environment and prevent the introduction and transmission of forest pests. At present, all countries in the world generally adopt the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures No.15 "Guidelines for the Management of Wood Packaging Materials in International Trade", and China also adopted it in 2005. The core of the guidelines is that the wooden packaging for outbound goods must come from enterprises that have been certified by the inspection and quarantine agency to apply wood packaging for decontamination and labeling, and have IPPC-specific detoxification treatment logos, and no signs of mildew or insect pests.
