Graphene has become one of the research hotspots in the field of materials due to its excellent physical, chemical and mechanical properties. Researchers at home and abroad have conducted a lot of research work on the controllable preparation of graphene and its application in chemical energy storage devices. With the support of the "Hundred Talents Program" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Low-Dimensional Materials and Chemical Energy Storage Task Force of the Clean Energy Chemistry and Materials Laboratory of the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences has launched Series of research work.

The research team prepared graphene / cotton flexible electrodes by simple brushing and heat treatment techniques, and assembled them into capacitors to study their electrochemical performance in aqueous and ionic liquid electrolytes. The results show that the graphene / cotton flexible electrode has high specific capacity, power density, energy density and good stability, and is a low-cost and environmentally friendly electrode material. Related results were published in J. Mater. Chem. (J. Mater. Chem. 2012, 22, 17245).

At the same time, the research team used a simple flame reduction method to quickly reduce graphene oxide paper to graphene paper. The results show that graphene paper has good capacitance performance in electrolytes of different systems. Related results were published in J. Power. Sources. (J. Power. Sources. 2013, 222, 52).
