(III) Soft Proofing Market View

There are two types of paperless soft proofing that have been applied so far.

(1) Screen soft proofing. Image preflighting is performed on the high-end display after color correction.

(2) FTP remote proofing. This method is becoming a trend with the development of networks and the increase of communication bandwidth and the improvement of color management technology.

With the development of color management technology, the screen soft proofing technology has made great progress. From the simple color inspection in the pre-press image processing process to the overall document preview, the entire layout or design scheme can be seen on the screen. The approximate printing effect can even be used to verify and confirm remote proofing through the Internet. Many companies have announced that they can achieve display colors that meet the printing effect. However, screen proofing is currently mainly directed at prepress production.
