The timely and correct daily maintenance of the anilox roller is a direct guarantee to prevent damage to the roller, extend the service life, and obtain stable high-quality prints.

1. Storage

(1) The anilox roller package is stored in a dry place indoors to prevent damage due to moisture, rain and direct sunlight.

(2) When replacing the anilox roller, protect the anilox roller surface to prevent collision damage. Do not store the unclean anilox roller. When storing, wrap the roller with natural foil packaging foil.

(3) Fix the roller on the special bracket during storage. Do not place the roller surface on the ground at an angle, otherwise the spray coating on the roller surface may be damaged.

2. Handling

Do not directly fix the lifting rope on the roller surface to lift and move the roller, to avoid falling the roller flower when lifting. The correct way to move the roller is to fix the belt or other support on the two ends of the roller, and avoid contact with the edge of the roller or other parts of the ceramic spray.

3. Printing environment

Remove dust magazines on the surface of printed matter before printing to keep the printing section clean.

4. Ink selection and filtration

Reject the use of inferior inks containing filling impurities. Place a magnetic filter in the ink tank to prevent metal impurities from scratching the anilox roller.

5. Clean up in time

After each printing, the surface of the roller must be cleaned in time and thoroughly to avoid the remaining ink remaining at the bottom of the mesh to dry and block the mesh. It is difficult to effectively clean, causing a reduction in volume and a reduction in ink release, which affects the printing quality.

6. Check

A mesh microscope is often used to inspect the mesh. If wear and clogging are found, measures should be taken in a timely manner.

7. Use the scraper correctly

(1) Do not over-press the doctor blade in order to get more colors, to increase the anilox roller and doctor blade wear.

(2) Do not rotate the dry anilox roller against the doctor blade.

(3) Each time the squeegee is updated, the pressure needs to be reset. Wrong pressure setting will cause scraper blades and damage the roller surface.

(4) Stop using the blade that has exceeded the maximum wear level, establish a daily process to monitor the blade wear changes, and control the degree of wear of the doctor blade stably to avoid damage to the anilox roller.

(5) Keep the roller and the blade parallel at all times, and check and calibrate every 15 days.

8. Reasonable selection of mesh type

Use the correct mesh depth and opening ratio. The correct ratio means a smoother surface and slower blade wear.

9. Correct daily cleaning and maintenance of anilox roller

(1) Daily cleaning of steel wire brushes: First, wipe the ink with solvent, then use special chemical cleaning agent, and use a special stainless steel wire brush with a steel wire diameter of 0.07 mm to clean the mesh.

(2) Immersion cleaning with chemical cleaning agent: use a special anilox roller chemical cleaning agent to immerse the roller, and spray the solvent to the rotating anilox roller through a high-pressure spray device moving along the axis of the roller to clean the mesh The residual ink in it is rinsed with clean water and air dried.

(3) Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) dry cleaning system: the principle of spraying low-pressure sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) powder onto the anilox roller against the residual dry solid ink in the mesh hole can effectively clean the anilox roller.

(4) Ultrasonic cleaning: The roller is immersed in the chemical cleaning solution and rotates slowly. The ultrasonic generating device vibrates the solution and generates countless micro-bubbles hitting the mesh. The bubbles explode under pressure to remove the residue in the mesh The purpose of cleaning the mesh. Care must be taken to use appropriate ultrasonic strength, frequency, time, and solution temperature to prevent excessive cleaning and damage to the anilox roll mesh.

10. Wrong cleaning methods are strictly prohibited

(1) Steam spray cleaning: it will damage the engraved surface of the anilox roller, resulting in deformation and corrosion of the steel body.

(2) Fire: High-temperature jet flame will seriously damage the ceramic surface, causing the anilox roller to be deformed by heating and leaving traces on the ceramic.

(3) Acid and its chemical substitutes: This is the worst way to try to clean the roller. Many acid compounds can seriously affect ceramic spraying and corrode shaft heads and steel bodies. Moreover, acids can also affect the health of operators.
