The printing technology of the new century is characterized by the use of digital and networked technologies, especially in the prepress area. Digital Pre-press technology refers to an integrated technology that uses computer image technology and network transmission technology to carry out a series of actions such as image adjustment, color separation processing, and film output in print front-end operations. It can digitally process high-resolution image files and transmit data through a broadband network in a smart man-machine operating environment to achieve resource sharing, which enables the entire prepress workflow to be desktop. At the same time, the application of new technologies requires the support of corresponding management systems in order to give full play to their advantages. The pre-press modular management system focuses on customer needs, integrates prepress units and systems, and coordinates various resources before digital printing. The whole process of processing is effectively self-managed so as to provide customers with products and services that meet the requirements.

I Digital Prepress Technology Development

The development and innovation of prepress technology cannot be separated from the rise of digital image processing technology. Digital Image Processing refers to the process of converting an image signal into a digital signal and processing it with a computer. With the advancement of electronic science and technology and the rapid development of computer technology, network technology, and artificial intelligence, digital image processing has begun to move toward higher and deeper fields. Digital prepress technology based on this has also been correspondingly developed.

2 Prepress Digital Modular Workflow

The prepress digital modular work flow is mainly composed of the prepress management module and the prior image setting, medium color separation processing, and late laser film output, as shown in Figure 1.

2.1 Prepress Management System

The prepress department is the foremost technical department of printing companies, and its importance is self-evident. Effective control of the prepress process is the key to improving the efficiency of prepress operations. In general, the modular management system consists of most of the file management and self-testing systems2.

As a prepress department, whether the file management is scientific or not directly reflects the level of professional quality of its departments. However, in some small and medium-sized printing companies, this point is often neglected and affects the overall development of the company. Modular file management is to set up a database for various types of files in the prepress process, and store the files in the form of data modules. For example, the customer's incoming file is usually entered on the CD-ROM or e-mail through the customer service department to the prepress file management center. The pre-press center will create a corresponding customer file base to back up the file according to the customer type, name, and filing date. To ensure the safety and orderliness of customer resources. Secondly, in the pre-press processing process, the art, color separation, or RIP format files are created and backed up using the prepress operation type, customer name, and working time. Prepress operators can extract and store files according to their needs in the pre-press archives according to their corresponding file information in order to increase the efficiency of prepress operations.

The establishment of a self-testing system is the basis for ensuring the effective operation of the prepress and the subsequent printing processes. The manuscript is the basis for plate making, the basis for printing, and one of the important conditions for obtaining high-quality packaging and printing products. Therefore, a customer check-in mechanism should be established at the front end to perform quality check on the customer's manuscript to ensure the availability of its files. Secondly, before and after the operation of various technical links before printing, corresponding checkpoints should be set up to check the files that are to be used and have been completed, so as to ensure that they will flow correctly to the next process, so as to reduce the absence rate of work and improve department performance. .

The establishment and implementation of the prepress management system provides an important guarantee for the efficient operation of the entire digital prepress process.

2.2 Prepress digital processing technology

2.2.1 Pre-image Settings

The pre-image setting mainly refers to the pre-press preparations such as file pre-processing, color correction and so on. File preprocessing includes converting the file color mode, such as converting RGB to CMYK mode; secondly, in order to avoid data loss during format conversion of the file, the converted file image should be checked according to the sample provided by the customer (see FIG. 2). The color draft is the basis for color separation of the plate making.
