2 Project Research Content and Objectives

The research content and objectives of the project are: a. Investigate and analyze the demand for packaging talents in the international and domestic packaging industry at the beginning of the 21st century, the knowledge capabilities and qualities that must be possessed by modern packaging talents, and study the disciplines of food, light industry, industrial design, art design, machinery, materials, computers, and control. The relationship between packaging and engineering disciplines, research knowledge structure and rational connotation of modern packaging talents, build new professional platform on the basis of higher level and innovative thinking, and form a packaging engineering teaching and talents that meet the needs of the 21st century packaging industry development. Training mode; b. Investigate and compare international and domestic packaging engineering undergraduate teaching. According to the knowledge, ability and quality structure required for packaging engineering talents in the future, reorganize the curriculum structure, optimize the teaching plan as a whole, present the main courses and syllabus, and present the packaging engineering professional experiment. Teaching requirements and experimental course syllabus; c. Organize and publish new supporting professional teaching materials; d. To study the training methods for innovation consciousness of packaging engineering professionals and reform existing teaching methods and methods; e. To carry out teaching reform trials, adjust teaching plans, teaching content, teaching methods and teaching methods; f. Implement the results of education reform and accumulate experience; g. Explore the training program for high-level personnel (master's and doctoral students) in packaging engineering disciplines, and rationally integrate with undergraduate training programs [1].

3 Project Research Progress

After three years of research and practice, the education reform project team has achieved fruitful results.
a. Combining with the key points of the “10th Five-Year Plan” development of the Chinese packaging industry, the development of the international and domestic packaging industry in the 21st century and its demand for packaging talents were investigated and analyzed. The knowledge, skills, and qualities that modern packaging professionals must possess were analyzed. The relationship between packaging disciplines and other related disciplines is studied. The knowledge structure and rational connotation of modern packaging talents are studied. A comparative study of packaging engineering majors in China and the United States (China-US, China-Germany, China-Australia, China-Japan) is conducted.
b. Build a new professional platform for packaging engineering, forming an overall optimization of packaging engineering professional training goals and teaching plans.
The overall optimization of the packaging engineering professional teaching plan. Course setting: The combination of versatility and flexibility. Basic courses, professional basic courses, professional core courses, experiments, general practice of production practice, professional orientation courses, flexible design of graduation design, combination of technology and art, increased the weight of packaging art design; after full investigation, the core of packaging engineering was put forward There are 6 courses, namely "Packaging Materials", "Packaging Technology, Process and Equipment", "Packaging Structure Design", "Modern Packaging, Decoration and Design", "Transport Packaging" and "Packaging System Design". Reorganized the core curriculum content and reorganized the packaging engineering professional curriculum system. In 2001, the Sub-committee of Packaging Education Professional Education held a meeting in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. At the meeting, after a thorough discussion, a consensus was reached on the packaging engineering professional teaching plan and professional core curriculum setting proposed by Jiangnan University; the packaging engineering professional curriculum system was reorganized, and the internship and experiment sessions were strengthened;
c. It has built the most advanced packaging engineering laboratory in China's universities. The Jiangnan University integrated the original experimental results of packaging engineering and the "National Light Industry Bureau Quality Inspection Center for Packaging Products". With the construction of the University's 211 project, the university has established the most advanced packaging engineering laboratory in China. The laboratory has a complete set of testing equipment for paper, cardboard, carton, paper products (including corrugated, honeycomb, and pulp molded), performance test equipment for new packaging materials, and major experimental equipment for transport package testing. Level test center. The completion of this laboratory has greatly improved the experimental conditions for professional packaging engineering. Based on this hardware infrastructure, the experimental teaching requirements for the packaging engineering and the syllabus for the experimental courses were formed, which enriched and enriched the experimental teaching content of the "Packaging and Testing Technology" course. The laboratory staff is staffed by teachers and students and is open to students throughout the day. Students can participate in testing services to combine the service community with the training of talents;
d. Professional textbook construction. "Packaging Machinery" and "Packaging Structure Design" professional textbooks have been published. Monographs "Flexographic Printing Technology", "Packaging and Printing Materials" and "Laser Anti-counterfeiting" have been published. It is organizing the preparation of "food packaging technology", "modern packaging and decoration design", "engineering mechanics (use of packaging engineering)", "transport packaging" new professional textbooks, "modern packaging mechanics", "package system design" monograph is writing ;
e. Comprehensive curriculum reform. "Packaging Integrated Technology", "Packaging Machine Design", "Packaging Materials", "Modern Packaging, Decoration and Design", "Packaging Structure Design" and "Packaging Testing Technology", "Transport Packaging" and "Packaging System Design" Courses such as the reform of the pilot program were carried out, and the "Packaging Integrated Technology" education reform has been implemented for four years. Published a batch of papers for teaching reforms in packaging engineering, 16 of which were formally published in the first issue of the Journal of Beijing Institute of Graphic Arts in 2002. This is a more comprehensive summary of the educational reform activities of the project team in recent years;
f. A number of stable teaching practice bases have been formed. Jiangyin Shenda Group of China's flexible packaging industry base, Asia Packaging Center Jiangyin Manufacturing Center, Wuxi Color Printing Factory, Danyang Daya Group and a number of packaging companies have become packaging teaching practice bases;
g. Proposed and implemented a postgraduate level talent training program for packaging engineering. Under the first-level discipline of light industry science and technology, it has set up the second-level disciplines of packaging engineering, including master and master degree, and cultivated graduate students. Completed the doctoral and master-level postgraduate training objectives, research directions and main course settings.
Training Objectives: To cultivate high-level and innovative specialized talents who have systematic and in-depth knowledge of packaging theory and can independently engage in scientific research and technological development in the packaging field.
Research direction: Transport packaging; Food and pharmaceutical packaging; Packaging process and equipment; Modern packaging design;

Buffered packaging theory and design, packaging machinery and technology, food packaging technology, packaging design, packaging and printing color, offset printing quality and control, food process and equipment development, CAD/CAE/CAM, modern machinery design methods, packaging and printing new Technical topics, halftone image processing, packaging materials, packaging LCA, pharmaceutical packaging technology, packaging process control theory, robotics and automated packaging.
Doctoral course. Progress in transportation packaging theory and technology, advances in food and pharmaceutical packaging technology, modern packaging design, advanced printing chromatics, packaging processes and equipment, modern packaging materials science, new food engineering technologies and their research frontiers, modern instrument analysis experiments, robotics and automation Packaging, finite element technology;
h. The demonstration effect of the reform achievements. The “research and practice of modern packaging talents training” teaching reform project has led to the practice of teaching reforms in a number of domestic universities, and frequent visits and exchanges between fraternal colleges and universities. In order to promote the development of packaging education and packaging disciplines, strengthen the teaching reform and exchange of teaching achievements among brothers and universities, and sum up experience in packaging education, the “research and practice of modern packaging talents training” teaching reform task force was initiated and hosted in August this year. The "National Packaging Engineering Discipline Development and Teaching Reform" Seminar will set up packaging engineering disciplines and educational exchange platforms to further promote and demonstrate the achievements of teaching reform.
