U.S. Develops Biodegradable Hardened Plastics

Prof. James Kerry Woollore of the American Institute of Technology, Resella, uses vegetable oil, a chemical that reacts with ultraviolet light, as a raw material, and uses ultraviolet light to transform it into a biodegradable hardened plastic. This hardened plastic is an ideal coating material for the inner wall of a food container.

Plastics produced by traditional methods can pollute the environment and cannot be biodegraded. The production process requires a lot of energy. Professor Krivolo uses hardened plastics made of new technology, that is, the toughness of the plastics used today, as well as good plasticity, and more importantly, it does not pollute the environment. Therefore, it is widely used in food packaging containers.
