Who wouldn't know this, not from: image → mode → CMYK color? It's that simple, but do you really understand the mysteries? The facts are not as simple as we think, there are a lot of emphasis on the conversion of color mode.

Here is an example to illustrate:

The first one is the original picture in PS2

1) You open the editor in the PS → color settings and select "North American general purpose 2" to confirm. Open a picture of RGB, switch to CMK mode and save it.

2) Change to another color mode: "Japanese Conventional Use 2", confirm, and then open the original RGB picture, switch to CMK mode and save it.

3) Open these two converted MYK pictures. At this time, the pictures you see are about the same color. Yes, it is not much different from the four-color display, but if you open the information panel and measure the two color values at the same position, you will find that their values are different.

Carry out the comparison charts of the various color versions for your reference.

This means that the color from RGB to CMYK is different with different color settings, which directly relates to the color performance and level of your printed product. This introduces a concept of color separation: long black version and short black version (in fact, we have been doing color separation when we switched from RGB to CMYK, and the output company is just outputting your color-separated files into film. It can be understood that it is almost the same as you are printing).

What are the long and short black editions? Simply put, the long black version starts from 10% to 15%, and the short black version only appears from 25% to 30% (different depending on the tone of the picture). The difference between the two is that the black of the short black version is mainly concentrated in the dark part, and the black of the middle tone is formed by superimposing CMY; the long black version starts from the middle tone and black appears and the CMY Relatively less. In the four-color printing, the black and white version will have different tone and level to the whole picture.
