"Volatile Organic Compound" emissions are one of the important reasons for the formation of PM2.5. According to statistics, 20% of VOCs are produced by traditional solvent-based paints.

Therefore, a large amount of solvent-based paints containing this substance and widely used in furniture, automobiles and other industries is one of the key points of the “strike hard” in the “100 technical reforms” of the Environmental Protection Agency.

According to Zheng Zaihong, deputy director of the Pollution Prevention and Control Department of the Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau, according to the “Beijing 2013-2017 Clean Air Action Plan Key Task Decomposition 2014 Work Measures”, Beijing plans to implement more than 100 air pollution prevention and environmental protection technology reforms this year. The project involves various aspects such as volatile organic matter treatment, desulfurization, denitrification and dust removal. Among them, the technological transformation of the solvent-based paints of furniture and automobile companies to “water-based paints” is a top priority.
