Recently, the research and development team of Shanghai Jiaotong University has made breakthroughs in the monitoring of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and the treatment of refractory toxic and harmful organic pollutants and the decomposition of hydrogen from sunlight. It has developed sensors through titanium dioxide to assist in COD monitoring.
According to reports, nano-titanium dioxide has important application prospects in the fields of environmental sensors, environmental purification and solar energy utilization, and has become a research hotspot in the field of environmental functional materials in recent years. However, the traditional nano-titanium dioxide material restricts the wide application of nano-titanium dioxide due to serious charge recombination, low quantum efficiency and large forbidden band width. Based on the design, preparation and structure and properties of titanium dioxide nanotube array materials, the Shanghai Jiaotong University team effectively solved the problem of serious photo-generated charge complex and low quantum efficiency of powdered nano-titanium dioxide materials, and invented a new type of titanium dioxide nanotubes. Array COD sensor, and thus established a fast, accurate and green photoelectric catalytic COD monitoring new method, which laid a foundation for the rapid and accurate determination of COD and wireless sensing of COD.
At present, the team of Shanghai Jiaotong University has developed a series of prototypes of COD photoelectric catalytic monitoring, which are used in various environmental monitoring. At the same time, based on the prepared titanium dioxide nanotube array materials and related composite materials, a new type of photocatalytic wastewater fuel cell system was established.
