Jel Sert's "freezer pop" soda has now become a household name. The company's products are targeted at children's market beverages, using HDPE bottles and shrink-wrap-around packaging, with cartoon characters printed on it, both to attract parents as buyers and children as consumers.

The latest listed Comic Coolers by Jel Sert is a vitamin-enriched fruit beverage that is specially formulated for children aged 6 to 12 years.

The company's specially selected aseptic package is a blow/fill/seal one-piece HDPE bottle with an unscrewing bottle cap. The package bottle uses an overall sleeve label that is decorated with the children's favorite patterns.

Children's drinks shrink packaging

Shrink packaging uses Axon-supplied equipment to decorate 6.75-ounce (200-ml) bottles, and the six-pack combination film prints a dynamic cartoon print.

According to Jel Sert, the unique packaging makes its product directly distinguishable from other similar juice drinks, in addition to its lower sugar content. Matt Ingemi, the company’s vice president for consumer health, explained: “Packaging is an integral part of Comic Coolers. Children will see the super cartoon heroes on the package appear to be communicating with them. , so that the children get a sense of participation and good experience. One of the characteristics of the children's beverage market is that manufacturers must simultaneously attract two types of consumers: parents as actual buyers and children as actual consumers. We believe that every feature of the product is in line with the dual needs of parents and children."

Ingemi explained that Jel Sert entered the convenience beverage market ten years ago and discovered niche market opportunities. Although there are many flavors and varieties on the market, they all contain a lot of sugar. He said: "The untapped area of the beverage market is low-sugar nutritious beverages. Comic Coolers contain lower sugars and nutrients, which meet the parents' requirements for children's health. The packaging of the products is very appealing to children. Like it."

The five flavors of Comic Coolers correspond to the super cartoon heroes printed on the packaging. Whether it is the label on each bottle or the overall packaging film of six packs, the eight-color flexo printing pattern is the same. The design of each taste uses the children's favorite super cartoon hero image to capture the children's attention.

These cartoon images are: delicious mixed flavor corresponds to Spider-Man, fighting berries corresponds to the American captain, grape flavor corresponds to the green fairy, and the invincible strawberry is the Night Devil. Ingemi went on to say that label design is crucial because the cartoon image printed on high-grade PVC film is the key to linking products with children. He said: "Film is the best medium for delivering this high-quality visual effect.

In order to produce outer packagings for Comic Coolers, Jel Sert splits the existing packaging line into two and sets aside 30 feet for the new labeling device, Axon's EZ labeling machine. KHL Engineered Packaging Solutions, a Jel Sert equipment distributor, recommended the specially-designed Axon EZ sleeve labeler and the EZ Model 108SR heat shrinkable oven on the grounds that the device is small and space-saving.

Product manager Matt Kransberger said: “The most difficult part of this project is how to maintain the consistency of the film status, because the tightness of the production line and the quality of the printing will affect the operation of the labeling machine. Axon sleeve marking machine has a cross-cut type When the screws are used, each of the bottles entering the machine can be assigned a corresponding position and space so that the film tension remains good and consistent."

The eight Asep-Tech® systems from Weiler Engineering will complete the entire process from blowing the bottle, filling the beverage, and sealing the bottle to the Intralox desktop conveyor. The bottle is then fed into the Axon shrink sleeve labeler, which will cut a 50-micron-thick (about 2 mil) PVC sleeve film from the Print Flex to a suitable size of 330 labels per minute. The speed will cut the label on the bottle. The labelled bottles will continue to the Arpac overpacker, where the bottles will be divided into groups of six and then packaged with HDPE film supplied by Bemis. The outer packaging machine cuts the film from a single roller and wraps the six bottles of beverage, which can be packaged in two groups at a time.

In the final step of the entire process, the six-pack beverage bottles were passed through a heat-shrink tunnel and then sent to the Douglas Machine. The eight packs of 48 bottles were used for final packing. Axon also integrates a component on the labeler to check for missing labels to ensure quality. The component has a sensor that senses a thin film with UV rays to prevent unlabeled bottles from flowing into the end market.

Ingemi continued: "Our design was originally designed to give the bottle an exciting look. And Axon's equipment is the key to making this dream come true. Whether it is cost or performance, Axon's solutions far exceed our expected."

Whole set of standard yogurt

Noga Dairy Dairy also used a sleeve labeling solution to reshape the Dairy Delite line, using a curved bottle and a smooth, appetizing pattern. Noga has been successfully producing and selling yogurt drinks for a decade. In 1992, the company introduced its yogurt products to the US market for the first time, which was not a revolution in the yogurt market. Dairy Delite Yoghurt is based on the concept of a yoghurt drink from Europe and includes a variety of flavors such as strawberry, banana, blueberry and peach. It is packaged in convenient 10oz and 16oz bottles and is equipped with paper labels.

In about 2004, Noga Dairy Dairy Company decided to redesign the packaging of its products and decorate the appearance of retail outlets to improve its shelf appeal. The final design of the new HDPE bottle was a unique design by Noga and was made by Suscan. The bottom of this new bottle is similar to a teardrop, while the bottleneck is a multi-ring sleeve. The bottle is covered with a PVC sleeve label produced by Ultra-Pak. The label design was designed by Creative Image, Inc., and the picture shows the moment when the bright-colored fruit falls into the white yogurt splashing tempting milk foam. The tempting pattern will make consumers feel attracted to the yogurt in the freezer at the moment they walk into the grocery store.

The new design of the 10 oz bottle will design the container as an easy-to-griw pear shape, which was conceived by Noga Dairy Dairy Company. At the top of the container is a 38 mm plastic tamper-evident cap with International Plastics & Equipment's tear-off end-marks, the color is consistent with the beverage or milkshake, and the tear-off mechanical logo. The use of new labels and uniquely shaped bottles means that milkers must improve the existing method of using pressure-sensitive labeler stickers.

In order to find a new labeling machine, Noga studied many different machines before hearing Nxon's shrink-sleeve labeling equipment, and later decided to visit a production line equipped with Axon system to see how the system works. Noga owner Eli Paz said that Axon's EZ-130 equipment for heat-shrink sleeve labeling has the highest quality and most competitive price, and determined that EZ-130 can best meet Noga's label labeling requirements.

The nesting speed depends on the width and length of the sleeve, the maximum diameter of the label can be handled up to 80mm; according to the container setting, the bottle width range from 3/8 to 3.125 inches; speed can reach 150 containers per minute due to rarely change the working mode . The labeling machine can be flexibly integrated into existing production lines, so the Noga single-head labeling machine and the hot-tunneling system are perfectly suited to the existing streamline settings and label them before filling and packaging the bottles.

First, the sleeve labeler cuts the entire shrinkable label film on the roller into a tube, and when the bottle enters the sleeve labeler with the conveyor belt, the tube label is placed on each bottle. The bottle then advances to Axon's EZ-72-SR7-9 hot tunnel, heating the sleeve so that it is tightly wrapped around the innovative shape of the bottle.

The new packaging design of dairy products not only increased the sensory value of yogurt drinks bottles, but also increased the number of bottles that Noga was able to apply on a given production day. In fact, production capacity has doubled with new packaging. Sales figures are also increasing, and Paz attributes this to the new packaging.
