SIG Blowtec, a manufacturer of blow molding machines, recently supplied a 15-cylinder long stroke (100 mm core center distance) blow molding machine to Huber Verpackungen of Germany for processing 1L of non-food HDPE bottles. SIG declared that the machine is the world’s first 14-chamber long-stroke machine that can process large containers. This machine is usually used for processing small products such as cosmetic bottles.
The machine delivered to Huber was a BlowPac Series 4 machine whose design was based on SIG's 12-cavity model, but the stroke was increased from 1400mm to 12480mm. Willi Muller supplies extrusion heads; Moldmaker Bennewart supplies molds. With a molding cycle of 14s, 3600 60g bottles can be processed per hour.
